Mary Magdalene and Jesus
© Charlotte Björnström, 2006
I walk
beside him, to listen
and
learn from his words and his deeds.
He gives
me stunning impressions:
human
and divine intertwined.
I hear
him speak of the kingdom
belonging
to children at heart.
He makes
me think of a mother
embracing
her small ones with joy.
I see
him touch those who suffer
and heal
them and raise them from death.
He shows
me secrets of healing,
of pain,
and forgiveness, and peace.
I hear
him talk to the wise ones
and
shock them with wisdom from God.
He tells
me truths in the riddles;
simplicity
veils inner depths.
I see
him walking on water
and
calming the storm of the sea.
He leads
me into the dwellings
where
life springs from bread and a cup.
I see
him suffer in anguish
and die,
and be put in a grave.
He shows
me that love is divine
and
splendour is given to earth.
I see
him early one morning
when
heaven’s transparency glows.
He gives
me Life through the Spirit,
and
calls me: Apostle of God.
